Why We Love It: A miles-long list of off-the-wall, only-in-NOLA ice cream flavors like Monkey Hill Dew, Sassafrass-Chicory, and Goat Cheese Fig. Uptowners fill this 50s-style ice cream parlor year-round for the shop’s clever house-made ice creams. You’ll find the classics here, too, but if ever there is a time or place to let your freak flag fly, go for one of Creole Creamery’s bizarre-ly delicious combinations. If you’re feeling bold, take the Tchoupitoulas Challenge: consume eight scoops of ice cream and your choice of eight toppings with the works (whipped cream, cherries, wafers) and get your name on the shop’s Hall of Fame plaque.
