Why We Love It: No mention of Blue Dot is complete without first noting that Blue Dot was founded by three New Orleans police officers, and everybody knows ... cops know doughnuts. But this is no assembly line doughnut. Cake and yeast doughnuts are hand-cut and come in more than 50 flavors, from classic glazed to fruit filled. Donut holes will keep the kiddos happy, but if you're looking for something a bit more illicit, try the Long John Maple Glazed with Bacon. Someone should be arrested for dreaming up this bacon-studded missile.
