Edible New Orleans' editor and publisher Stephanie Jane Carter has been named a 2016 Legacy Award Winner by the esteemed Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI). In all, six women were selected for receipt of the award, which includes the opportunity of mentorship by one of the organization's distinguished members.

With the mission of "education and philanthropy for the good of the global community," LDEI established its Legacy Awards (with the support of The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts) in 2009. Recipients reside in the United States, Canada, Mexico, or the United Kingdom, and have at least four years of experience in the food, beverage, and/or hospitality industries. Categories include Wine, Farm to Table, Culinary Achievement, and Journalism.

"It's an honor to be recognized by the accomplished group of women at LDEI," shares Stephanie.

Stephanie is recognized for her work in the Food and Wine Journalism category, and will be mentored by Family Circle Magazine's Dame Regina Ragone. She will enjoy an "action-packed" trip to New York City, participating in a week of "photo shoots, brainstorming sessions, and recipe tastings."

"I am thankful to Regina Ragone of Family Circle magazine for inviting me to spend a week there as part of this award," says Stephanie. "I look forward to learning a lot and putting that knowledge to good use back here in New Orleans."
